Yes we need it. Or at least we need the half part of that stuff, I mean; if I love surfing why I cannot buy a new surf table, if I want to play basketball and I choose a new brand pair of shoes that I liked at most, that makes me a slave of publicity? Actually, what I want to say is that we don't have to stop buying, we only have to buy what we like, what we enjoy it doesn't matter if is a new brand or not but the real problem becomes when we buy things because others do it too and because it's cool and at this point is where the big companies controls us. We already have all we need. Our society is based in consumerism. Many people spend their money in cravings. Anyway there are people who live in poverty and work hard to get some essential for them. We have to learn from them and distinguish between what we need and what we want to. Toni Párraga
A lot of people need material things fpr becoming happy. But happiness is not related with money, we don't need this staff for living or becoming happy. We shouldn't be happy with the the things we pay for, we must be happy with valuable things that are not material things. All of this stuff are extremely not necessary. Òscar Montes Recasens
I think that we live in a materialist society and we often hace the idea that we have to hace a lot of thing to be happy. But the true is we don't need it. A lot of people die cause they don't have anything to eat, and at the same time we are buying a mobile phone that costs €700. We are slaves of a consumerist society and we don't value what is really important, which are not material things.
We have never needed all of the stuffs we use or we want, but why we want it if we doesn't need it? Easy, all around us have a name, a famous thing or a tendency and we have neveer thought of the necessity, we are worryed about the tendency.
Your happiness has not to depend on some material things, but if you can afford them, I don't really see what's the bad thing. You have to know the difference between wanting something, and needing it, also. If you think that some of that stuff can make your days eazier, go ahead and buy them, but don't depend on them, you have to start needing and loving other things, things that money cannot buy. Because with money you can buy a house, but not a home. With money you can buy a clock, but not time. With money you can buy a book, but not knowledge. With money you can buy a good position, but not respect. With money you can buy blood, but not life... Alexandra Ragalie Gabriela
